Established in 1948, J.V. Tierney & Co. operate as Consulting Engineers for Building Services, Sustainable Design Specialists and Project Managers in the Construction Industry.

The Company currently has a staff complement of 70 people, managed by 6 Directors and 2 Associate Directors. A number of our key staff have in excess of 20 years service.

A specialist Sustainable Design Subsidiary, JVTE, concentrates on the area of sustainable design concepts.

The Company has become synonymous with the highest quality design concepts, efficient project management, value engineering and effective cost control.




We have a long and successful record in the Design of Building Services using Modern Engineering and Communications Technology Methods.

Our Project Portfolio includes design in the Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Health, Education, Sports/Leisure, Restoration and Residential Sectors.

We work with Major Government Bodies and Private Clients including many from Overseas. Our portfolio includes over 3800 projects, with many repeat commissions, and we design and are responsible for over €100 million of certified work annually.

A strict in-house quality control system is in operation and the Company is certified to IS EN ISO 9001-2000 Standard. All of the design, drafting and administrative functions of the Company are operated to this standard.

As part of our ISO Procedures, the Company runs monthly seminars, addressed by specialist firms in the building services area. This strategy ensures that the Company is kept up to date with new developments in the industry.

JVT is a member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (A.C.E.I.) which is affiliated to The European Federation of Consulting Engineers Associations (EFCA) and FIDIC, The International Federation of Consulting Engineers.
